Choosing an LED bathroom mirror

An illuminated mirror gives clear, even light for everyday tasks and becomes the focal point of the bathroom. Start with how the light is placed: front-lit mirrors light your face directly, back-lit mirrors cast a soft glow onto the wall, and edge-lit mirrors give a crisp outline of light.

Then choose the features you need: a demister pad to keep the glass clear of steam, a shaver socket, and colour choice with TrioTone® (warm, natural or cool white) or CCT (adjustable from warm to cool). Frames come in black, brushed brass, copper, gunmetal or frameless. Our mains-powered mirrors are IP44 rated for bathroom zone 2. Can an LED mirror go next to the shower or bath?

Our mains-powered illuminated mirrors are IP44 rated, which is suitable for bathroom zone 2. Check where your mirror will sit with our bathroom zones and IP ratings guide.

Do I need an electrician to fit an illuminated mirror?

Mains-powered mirrors are wired into the bathroom's electrical supply, and that work should be carried out by a qualified electrician. Our rechargeable battery mirrors need no wiring and hang from a simple wall bracket.

What is a demister pad?

A demister pad is a heated pad behind the glass that keeps the mirror clear of steam after a bath or shower. Mirrors with a demister pad are shown in each product's specification.

Can I change the colour of the light?

Yes, on many of our mirrors. TrioTone® mirrors let you choose warm, natural or cool white, and CCT mirrors adjust smoothly from warm to cool so you can match the light to the time of day.

Front-lit, back-lit or edge-lit: what is the difference?

Front-lit mirrors shine light towards you, which is best for shaving and make-up. Back-lit mirrors glow onto the wall behind for a softer, ambient look. Edge-lit mirrors give a clean line of light around the glass.
