A bathroom mirror with a shaver socket gives you a safe place to plug in a shaver or electric toothbrush right at the basin, without a standard socket on the bathroom wall.
Why you cannot just fit a normal socket
A standard plug socket is not allowed in the bathroom zones around the basin, bath and shower. The type of socket you can have near the basin is a shaver socket built to the shaver supply standard. It is designed for shavers and electric toothbrushes.
That is why so many people choose a mirror or mirror cabinet with the shaver socket already built in. The socket sits where you need it, and there is no separate faceplate on the tiles.

What the shaver socket in a Sensio mirror does
The shaver socket in our mirrors and cabinets is dual-voltage and built into the product. The mirrors and cabinets are IP44 rated for bathroom zone 2. On some models, such as the Kai Plus and Shannon, it is a discreet dual shaver socket. On the Reagan, the shaver socket and demister have separate rocker switches.
Every mirror in our LED mirrors with shaver socket range also has LED lighting and a demister pad, so one product handles light, a steam-free reflection and power for your shaver.
Option 1: an LED mirror with a shaver socket
Choose a mirror when you want a slim fit and do not need storage. Our current mirrors with a shaver socket are:

- Avalon LED Bathroom Mirror: frameless, backlit, 500mm x 700mm, cool white light (6000K), with Bluetooth speakers built in, keyhole mounted.

The infra-red sensors on the Kai Plus, Shannon and Avalon switch the mirror with a swipe of the hand. The Avalon needs a minimum of 150mm clearance for the sensor to work well, so allow for that when planning.

Option 2: an LED mirror cabinet with a shaver socket
Choose a cabinet when you want storage behind the glass too. Most of our mirror cabinets have a shaver socket inside, so a shaver or electric toothbrush can charge out of sight with the door closed.

USB charging on mirror cabinets
A shaver socket handles your shaver and toothbrush. A USB port adds a place to charge other small devices. Several of our cabinets combine the two:
- The Aurelia cabinets have a dual shaver socket with USB-A and USB-C ports.
- The Marella and Zinnia Arch have a shaver socket with USB and Type C ports.
- The other Zinnia cabinets have a shaver socket with USB ports.

Mirror or cabinet: how to decide
Choose a mirror if your wall space is tight in depth, you already have storage, or you want a backlit glow. Our mirrors with a shaver socket are 50mm to 70mm deep.

Fitting and guarantee
A mirror or cabinet with a shaver socket is mains powered, so it must be wired in by a qualified electrician. Fixings vary: the Kai Plus, Shannon and Reagan are back box mounted, the Avalon hangs on keyhole fixings, and most cabinets use mounting brackets or a French cleat. Check each product page before you plan the wiring.
